Education
Education is the principal program of the Arid Lands Institute. ALI offers graduate and undergraduate
training in
water- and energy-intelligent design in three often overlapping settings:
Coursework
Multidisciplinary seminars and research-driven design studios in Burbank/Los Angeles.
Fieldwork
Direct observation and analysis of diverse water systems and the settlements they have shaped
throughout the west. The principal setting for immersive fieldwork experience is the Summer Field Station.
Service Learning
Provision of planning and design services in collaboration with watershed communities
in rural, suburban, and urban locations.
